My name is Brimmer Doane Morrison and I am a graduate from the College of Wooster where I majored in history, and minored in French. I ADORE researching and writing about cultural and design history, theory and sustainable fashion.
My Portfolio page as well as my Blog posts page represent my digital portfolio for potential employers. I have professional experience writing for Tonitruale, an internet fashion and culture magazine that I developed my blog writing skills, SEO and other digital art skills. Art directing for Morrison Artworks meant help archive glass art, photograph, handle and document as well as made the current website using Wix. As a Materials Tends Intern for Fashion Snoops, I gained prowess in copywriting, researching, color theory, UX through design as well as more experience working remotely with a small team of professionals. Most importantly in my eyes is my published research paper about grotesque fashion, avant garde design and cultural capitalism as it pertains to Rei Kawakubo and Comme Des Garçons. Here, I detailed how Jouissance through fashion has been achieved through the Lolita subculture. Furthermore, how postmodern cultural capital operates as a complex tug of war between creator and appropriation.
Archiving, creating music, dancing, drawing, and coming up with ‘outside the box,’ creative ideas and designs is what I love to do. On the Shop page is my curated fashion and home decor that I am reselling. Follow me on Instagram @brimmsterboy and @brimm.archive to see my personal style, articles, new products and latest blogs.
